Barcelona hits 1,500 startups, a record figure for the economy
Catalonia, home to 1,300 startups
Barcelona and Catalonia are building the economy of the next decade, consolidated as Southern Europe’s leading hub. According to the Barcelona & Catalonia Startup Hub’s 2019 figures, the city is today home to 1,500 startups, a number that has increased 38% over the last three years.

Catalonia sees its number of Blockchain companies double over the last year
Blockchain technologies are emerging in many sectors of the economy and will be disruptive in the near future. The blockchain sector is growing steadily in Catalonia, and startups can even enjoy a new location for them in Barcelona.

Barcelona’s Airport reaches 52.6 million passengers in 2019
Barcelona’s Airport set a new traffic record and reached 52.6 million passengers in 2019, 5% more than the previous year. The number of international passengers experienced the highest increase (5.4%), with a total of 38.6 million users.
